Michigan summers are to be soaked up and enjoyed! If your 4 legged family members can't join you, please consider Country Roads when looking for a staycation for your pet! We will be here through September 19th for boarding and then we will be taking a little vacation of our own till October 15th.

PLEASE, PLEASE, remember to read your boarding confirmation emails, they contain important information and possibly updated requirements for your pets' stay.

****Please do not be offended if we ask to see your dog's current records prior to boarding and if you are in any doubt about your pet's compliance with our needs, please call and ask. If you have made a reservation, received an email confirmation, but your dog does not have the proper immunization, the 48 hour cancellation fee will be in effect.

 The following information contains important requests about drop off, pick up, payment methods, necessary collars, and food for your pet's stay!

Our drop-off and pick-up hours are 8:00-11:00 and 3:00-6:00 BY APPOINTMENT ONLY, Wednesday through Monday.  We are closed Tuesdays and Saturday afternoons. One hour window appointments for drop off and pickup can be made by email, phone call, or text message. We will respond with confirmation once we receive your request.

Drop off and pickup appointments MUST be made at least one day in advance. Payment is due when you pick-up your pet(s), we accept cash, check, or Venmo.

AS OF JANUARY 1, 2024 - An additional night stay will be charged for all pets picked up after 11:00 am. 

As of June 1, 2024: 1 dog boarding - $28 per night, 2 dogs boarding same kennel - $52 per night, 3 dogs boarding same kennel $72 per night, Cat boarding $15 per night, 2nd or 3rd family cat in the same room $12 per night.

Please ensure your pets meet our vaccinations requirements and those vaccinations have been administered at least 10 days before boarding (intranasal Bordetella 5 days prior).  Vaccination requirement details are listed below.  Veterinary proof of vaccination is absolutely required before we can board any pet.  Vaccination proof can be emailed or texted to us ahead of boarding to avoid any issues on arrival.  Please call us if you are in any doubt about the requirements.

Please bring enough food for your pet's stay, but avoid a 30 lb bag of food!  There is no need to bring feeding bowls (other than special feeders as required by your pet). We have plenty of treats, but if you have chewy toys; stuffed Kongs, bully sticks, stuffed marrow bones etc., we are happy to give those to your pet and refill as necessary.

Your pet should arrive on leash,  wearing a buckle or snap on collar. Please refrain from leaving on martingale collars, training collars, pinch collars, prong collars, electronic collars, as these will be removed while in the kennel. Sometimes it is necessary to guide your dog using their collar, tags are perfectly acceptable.

If you are boarding with us for the first time, we will need a Boarding Agreement and Pet Details form completed for each pet. If you are a valued returning client, PLEASE fill out the Pet Details AGAIN since Country Roads Kennels has new owners that want to know as much as is necessary to make your pet's stay a safe and happy one! It's all in the details!

Our goal is not only to keep your pets safe, loved and happy while they vacation here with us at Country Roads, but to maintain the high standards you have come to expect and appreciate! I am a Michigan native and am so excited to be returning to The Mitten after many years away. My husband, Dino, comes from The Boot, better known as Italy! What we both bring to Country Roads is a love for dogs and cats that have enriched our lives since we were young children. Our new home here in Goodland Township will also be the gigantic playground and canine performance sports arena to our 4 furry kids.

Boarding your pet is not something you should take lightly, and you should be assured that we don’t either.  Our mission is to make sure your pet has the very best care while they are with us and you are confident in that care.
 
Established for over 19 years, our rural location and purpose-built kennel facility is also our home, and we welcome your pets to stay with us.  Our rates offer great value for money and we will always be as accommodating as we can with any requests you have for your pet’s health and comfort.
 
The kennel facility is always available for visits during our opening hours and we try to post “holiday snaps” of all pets daily so you can keep up with their vacation days while enjoying yours.
 
Most of our kennels have indoor runs as well as a spacious main area.  All kennels have access to our outdoor play area and all dogs are invited out to play 5-6 times per day (depending on weather).
 
Our cat room and all kennels are climate controlled and air-purified for comfort, and cleanliness is always a priority.
